Patrick Chiang Top-Executive

Hello there, I am Patrick, Co-Founder and CTO of PhotonIC Technologies, a fabless semiconductor company that pioneers fundamental optical-electrical chip technologies for 5G, Cloud-Datacenters, LIDAR, and optical sensors. In addition, I am also a (courtesy) Foreign Professor at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, where my research team explores applied AI, such as embedded ML and 3D sensing.

I take pride in being the author or co-author of over 150 conference/journal publications.
My achievements include being the recipient of a Department of Energy Early Career Award and NSF CAREER Award for energy-efficient interconnects and robust near-threshold computing.

I hold a B.S. degree in electrical engineering and computer sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S. and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Furthermore, I was a tenured Associate Professor at Oregon State University, USA.

My research interests revolve around two key areas:

Firstly, we explore embedded ML algorithms that allow for improved performance and yield enhancement as compared to standard linear adaptation.

Secondly, our research team delves into AI algorithms that enhance and manipulate depth sensing, including depth-completion algorithms, super-resolution, Neural Radiance Fields (NERF), and Dynamic Visual Synthesis (DVS).

On Linkedin, I share my experience and observations on various topics such as #๐š๐ข, #๐ฅ๐ข๐๐š๐ซ, #๐ž๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ญ, #๐ฉ๐ก๐จ๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐ฌ, and #๐ฌ๐ž๐ฆ๐ข๐œ๐จ๐ง๐๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ.
