Ian Page Leaders

I'm basically an embedded systems programmer, with significant application-specific digital hardware design, and 15 years experience running a deeptech investment fund.

I'm an advocate for Open Source with a background in computing hardware and software, graphical user interfaces, EDA, and early-stage investment. I have several advisory positions and I'm also open to something new. Otherwise, I'm greatly enjoying bringing up two, young, engineering-inclined sons.

Specialties: Early-stage technology companies. Software/hardware/systems/digital engineering; parallel computing; IoT/EH (Internet of Things, Energy Harvesting); user interfaces; teaching and research at advanced level in universities.

My career started with several years in large-company R&D in computing and electronics, followed by 20+ years in universities (hardware/software/graphics/robotics/AI). As an academic at the University of Oxford I created a 'software-to-hardware' conversion technology (Hardware Compilation/FPGAs/Hardware-Software Co-design). I created a spin-out company directly from this work and raised over $100m of international investment for it.

From 2003 to 2019 I managed a private, UK-based, technology investment fund where I gained much experience of early-stage technology companies from sitting as a non-exec director on the boards of our portfolio companies.
