Duncan Turner Top-Executive

At SOSV, I invest exclusively in start-ups that use physical sciences to solve some of the world's toughest problems driven by climate change, a reconfiguration of global industries and equitable access to healthcare.

I use my diverse experience in design, engineering, manufacturing and GTM to help pre-seed start-ups scale. Over the past nine years, I have invested in 100+ start-ups at SOSV, I have a particular view of the increasingly important role hard tech will play in a rapidly evolving world. Software alone cannot dig us out of this hole.

I have in-depth domain knowledge throughout the product creation lifecycle, having taken over 30 products to market through start-ups I have co-founded (I have learned from failure). At IDEO, I led product-strategy projects for fortune 500 companies. My professional journey started straight out of college as an entrepreneur with a skillset in design engineering and a passion for Industrial Design. My work won multiple design awards and is even featured in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York.
