Franziska Zimmermann Top-Executive
Franziska Zimmermann is Managing Director for Sustainability at Temasek. Committed to embed sustainability as a priority across institution and investments, Franziska leads the development of the firm’s overarching sustainability frameworks, policies, practices and disclosures.
Under her leadership, the firm has launched its ESG programme, defined an ambitious climate change agenda, formed an external advisory group as well as an engagement platform for portfolio companies focused on sustainability. Franziska spearheads the external engagements with relevant international institutions, global investor alliances as well as think tanks and business networks. She joined Temasek in 2015 to steer international policy and institutional relations work focused on Europe and key platforms such as the Temasek International Panel, the Singapore Summit and the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Prior to joining Temasek, Franziska led the Government Affairs and B2G function of Philips across ASEAN & Pacific, focusing on healthcare, digital health, energy-efficiency and sustainability. From 2007-2012 she held various senior positions at agricultural technology company Syngenta based at global headquarters in Switzerland and its regional headquarters for Asia Pacific in Singapore. She joined the private sector after eight years of service in the Swiss Government, where she focused on international trade and economic development cooperation with a main focus on food, agriculture and clean technology. During this time, Franziska was also seconded to the EU Commission’s Directorate General for Enterprise.
She serves as a member of the ESG Committee of the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID), the Expert Panel on ESG and Sustainable Investing at Singapore’s Wealth Management Institute (WMI) and is a Fellow to the Transition Investment Lab at the New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD).
Franziska holds a Masters degree in Law from the University of Bern, Switzerland.
