Executive leader with over 23 years of hands-on experience in Data & AI. I have built and scaled enterprise-wide AI strategies, platforms, and responsible adoption frameworks across senior leadership, startup, advisory, research, government, academic, investment, and board roles. As the inaugural Chief Data Officer and later Special Advisor (Artificial Intelligence) at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), I pioneered the regulator’s adoption of data science and AI. I led the development of Singapore’s national financial sector AI strategy, championed open cross-border data flows, and created the world’s first FEAT (Fairness, Ethics, Accountability, and Transparency) principles for responsible AI in finance. The LeStruM project aims to advance our understanding of the relationship between musical structure/performance and the listening experience.
Responsibilities included organising workshops and seminars with international participants and teaching the ‘Intelligent Systems in Business’ GI09 UCL MSc course during 2006, 2007, 2008;
Sole responsibility for organising, preparing material, and conveying the course which included coursework and examination material for up to 25 students
The aim of the course was to provide an external viewpoint on the business applications of Intelligent Systems (IS) within the areas covered by the MSc in IS.
The course was designed to stimulate a questioning and inquisitive approach to the field. Annual feedback from students had highly rated the course as “putting things in context” and useful.
Also, post doctorate on the “Personal Information Navigator Adapting Through View” (PinView), a project which has the research aim of developing new principles, methods, and prototypes for the next generation of interfaces to data. Developed a variety of methods for dealing with implicit feedback from eye movement data for image search and retrieval problems. Led to novel developments within the project on searching and retrieving images using eye movements.
