EU official with extensive experience in European policy, financial management and law.
Currently, the Director of the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). The Agency is responsible for implementing the European Innovation Council and manages other EU programmes in the fields of SME support, innovation ecosystems, single market, consumer policy and interregional innovation investments.
Previously, headed the Budget and Financial Management unit in DG REGIO and, before, led several units in DG TAXUD, covering tax administration, the fight against VAT fraud, communications, interinstitutional relations, strategic planning and infringements.
Earlier, worked as a Registry Lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights and in the private sector with Deloitte and PwC as a Consultant, a law firm, as well as co-owning and managing an SME.
Holds a law degree from Sofia University, an LL.M. from King’s College London, and executive education from Harvard Business School.
