Scientia Professor, University of New South Wales
Founder: Tackling Stigma in Healthcare

PERSONAL SUMMARY:
My goals are to design, implement and communicate about research which involves genuine and respectful engagement of communities affected by viral hepatitis. It is important to ensure that our research contributes to better public health and social policy and better programs in these sensitive areas. A key aspect of this work is stigma and discrimination. Our research acknowledges the impact that stigma and discrimination can have on the lives of individuals and communities. We aim to contribute to lessening the burden of stigma and discrimination by examining where and how it occurs and what can be used to counter stigma and discrimination - from the individual experience to considerations of structural factors.
