Founded in 1994, the company conducted preclinical development programs, including the BEXXAR® therapy and the MELACINE® vaccine. Corixa had a broad technology platform that allowed for integrated vaccine design and the use of proprietary product components. The company partnered with various pharmaceutical developers and marketers to make its potential products available to patients worldwide. In 2005, Corixa was acquired by GlaxoSmithKline, and it ceased operations in 2006.
