Nabil Mohammed Leaders

An electrical researcher with a Ph.D. in Power Electronics. My expertise lies in the field of electrical power engineering, with a particular focus on renewable energy technologies, including grid-following and grid-forming inverters, grid integration of renewable energy resources, microgrids, energy storage and management systems, and modeling, control, and stability of power electronic-based power systems.

Technical Expertise:
✔️Renewable Energy Systems: Design, modelling, simulation, and implementation of:
• Single and three-phase DC/AC power converters:
- Grid-following inverter systems ( e.g., Grid-connected solar PV/wind inverters)
- Grid-forming inverter systems ( e.g., Droop- , VSG-, and VOC -controlled inverters)
• Smart inverters to provide ancillary services to the (micro)grid such as:
- Grid impedance estimation and monitoring.
- Reactive power support.
- Accurate power sharing.
- Realtime stability analysis.
• AC/DC/Hybrid Microgrids.

✔️ Electrical Power Systems:
• Modelling of power system components.
• Power system quality.
• Power system studies.
• Relevant standards for the interconnection of distributed energy resources.

✔️ Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) & Energy management systems.
✔️ Modelling, simulation, and control of dynamic systems. System identification. PLC (Siemens PLC: S300, S400, S1200 and S1500) and SCADA (WinCC).
✔️ Laboratory Experience:
