Vijay Sankaran Leaders
Vijay Sankaran is a forward-thinking software leader and technology executive who is currently Chief Technology Officer and Head of Digital Solutions for Johnson Controls reporting to the CEO and a member of the firm’s executive committee. In this role, Vijay leads the technology strategy and global P&L for the OpenBlue digital SaaS business which is the industry’s leading intelligent buildings platform. OpenBlue provides analytical insights and optimization suggestions to its users leveraging predictive and generative AI . He leads a global team of over 1000 employees inclusive of commercial, product management, R&D, delivery and customer operations functions.
Vijay is on the Board of Directors of Veralto Corporation, providing technology solutions to provide access to clean water and safe food. He is a member of the audit and risk committee.
Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Vijay was Chief Information Officer and Head of Innovation at TD Ameritrade. He led a team of 2000 employees with responsibility for digital strategy, software engineering, technology operations, cybersecurity, data and innovation.
Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, Vijay held several senior leadership roles at Ford including:
- Director, Application Development where he was responsible for software development, and delivery of major programs and projects with a global organization of 4500 people.
- Director, Infrastructure Operations where his responsibilities included operational support for infrastructure and Ford's largest data centers in North America.
Prior to joining Ford, Vijay was a consultant across multiple industries. Vijay holds a B.S. in Computer Science from MIT and an M.B.A from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
