The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) is one of the European Structural and Investment Funds allocated by the European Union. The ERDF aims to contribute to reducing disparities between the levels of development of European regions and to improve living standards in the least-favoured regions. It is designed to strengthen economic, social and territorial cohesion in the European Union. Its purpose is to transfer money from richer regions and invest it in the infrastructure and services of underdeveloped regions.
